The Lancers beat Racine Lutheran 2-0 in a Metro Classic match-up played at Anderson/Troha Field in Kenosha.  St. Joe’s senior Andrew A scored both goals for the Lancers.  Andrew scored in the 22nd minute assisted on a cross by fellow senior Phil R.  St. Joe’s led 1-0 at half. In the second half, freshman Peter V was fouled in the box leading to a penalty kick which Andrew converted (58th minute).  The Lancers maintained a clean sheet giving them a 2-0 victory. 

Coach Gino Alia: “It was a very physical match, perhaps a precursor to Friday’s football game between the 2 schools.  Our central midfielders – Peter, Phil and Keegan B (So) – worked hard the entire match and did a great job controlling the pace of play.  As a team, every player did a great job executing what we asked them to do.”

The Lancers dominated shots on goal (11 to 2) and corner kicks (7 to 1).
