The Lancers rebounded from a slow start to defeat the visiting Angels in a Metro Classic Conference game.
"I give credit to St. Cat's as they came out hot from the start and built up a 10-point lead within two minutes," St. Joseph coach Jason Coker said. "However, our girls really seemed to keep their composure and get locked in for the rest of the game."
Katie Matrise drilled nine shots from the field and sparked the Lancers (3-2 overall, 2-1 conference) with 29 points. Alexis Mattox scored nine points, while Coreyanna Watts added eight.
"I thought Katie played fantastic tonight," Coker said. "You could see her leveraging our offense to a point that made it tough to guard her."
