In a match ended just before half due to area thunderstorms, and resulting poor field conditions, St. Joe’s came away with a 4-1 advantage over Racine Horlick in a game played at Horlick’s Levonian Field.   The Lancers scored in the 4th, 11th, 23rd and 27th minutes.  Sophomore Ava R had 2 goals, with senior Martina H and junior Elise H added one each.  Junior Katelyn V was credited with 2 assists in the shortened match.

“Knowing the forecast, we wanted to get on the board right away and play out in front.  In the first 30 minutes, we had a 70-30 possession advantage, 11-2 shot advantage, and obviously success in finishing. Our coaching goal was to move some players around, try some new options with an eye toward the longer season, which the girls handled pretty well.”

It would have been nice getting the full match in given the Easter/Spring break that follows for the Lancers. St. Joe’s returns to game action on April 27 in a conference match at Burlington Catholic Central.
