St. Joe’s defeated Kenosha Christian Life 2-0 in a regional semi-final match hosted by the Lancers at Ameche Field.  In the 24th minute, freshman Peter V tallied the first goal for the Lancers off a Phil R assist, and some nifty maneuvering in the box.  Senior Matt S put the Lancers up 2-0 when he launched a 25 yard rocket that found the back of the net.  The Lancers 2-0 halftime lead withstood the full 80 minutes.  St. Joe’s advances to play the 3 seed, Cristo Rey (ranked #5 in state Div. 4), Saturday afternoon.

Coach Gino Alia: “After a few bumpy minutes, we settled down and did a nice job moving the ball and creating scoring chances.  Christian Life was focused on our striker [leading scorer, Andrew A (Sr)], and that left great space for our midfield, and Peter, Phil and Keegan B (So), did a great job taking what was given and being aggressive offensively. It would have been nice to get some more breathing room in the second half, but the goal is to advance and we accomplished that.”
