St. Joe’s defeated Milwaukee Audubon, 5-0, in a non-conference match played at Anderson/Troha field.  Senior Matt S. started the scoring for the Lancers in the 30th minute when he headed in a Philip R. corner kick.  The score was 1-0 at half in favor of the Lancers.  St. Joe’s wasted little time in the second half putting the match out of reach. Senior Andrew A. scored in the opening minute off a Matt S. assist to give the Lancers a 2-0 lead. A minute later, freshman Peter V. put the Lancers up 3-0 with an unassisted goal.  Matt S. scored his second goal in the 47th minute, assisted by Andrew A., for a 4-0 lead.  Andrew A. finished the scoring with his second goal of the match in the 66th minute, giving the Lancers the 5-0 margin of victory.

Coach Gino Alia:  “We had good opportunities early on, but struggled to find that first goal.  Matt S.’s header got us on track. Our energy and ball movement to start the second half was great, and led to 3 exceptional goals in the span of 7 minutes.”
